9 Welcome to our first installment of: Urgent Care Boot Camp Fridays

What is Urgent Care Boot Camp? Who produces the curriculum?
Urgent Care Boot Camp is produced by the fab group of physician educators at HippoEducation (Hippo like Hippocrates!). The curriculum is specifically designed for Urgent Care, as opposed to others which repurpose material from ER or primary care. It goes through topics such as tips for practicing UC medicine, common chief complaints, explains common procedures-lac, how to read x-rays, splinting, etc. If HippoEd sounds familiar, its because you've probably heard about EM Rap and Urgent Care rap. Those who have read my other blogs know I've always recommended their podcasts. In every single episode, I learned & continue to learn practice changing advice/tips/cases. Below are links to their podcasts:
  • Primary Care Rap
  • Urgent Care Rap
  • ER Rap

Why are you teaming up with HippoEd?
I learned about Urgent Care Boot Camp through different colleagues who had rave reviews about it. Since COVID, my continuing medical education (CME) stipend has been temporarily suspended. I’ve teamed up with the folks over at HippoEd to give you a glimpse into their Urgent Care Boot Camp. They granted me free access along with permission to post about it. I’m completing for CMEs/forever a fan of learning & increasing my skills as a PA. I figured this weekly project would give you an insight into the curriculum and a glimpse into CME.

My goal (&HippoEd's) through these blogs/posts is that you'll learn something that is practice-changing! Stay tuned for 2 giveaways for access to their boot camp ($890 value!)

*FYI: I don't get paid for these posts, but if you decide to buy the course, please use my referral link for $25 off. It is small way to help me continue making these blogs: Urgent Care Boot Camp
