Vital signs: signos vitales

Tests: estudio (you can also use the term "prueba")
For many of these diagnostic tests, you can make each specific to which location/body part you will be evaluating by attaching the word "de" at the end. Essentially, you will be saying "x-ray of (insert body part), "CT of (insert body part)" which is translated to "radiografía de el/la (body part)", tomografía computarizada de el/la (body part). You can check out my other Spanish lessons on anatomy terms here
X-ray: radiografía

Specific example
X-ray of ankle: radiografía del tobillo
Ultrasound: ultrasonido
CT scan: tomografía computarizada

CT scan of the brain: tomografía computarizada del cerebro

MRI: resonancia magnética
EKG: electrocardiograma

Urinalysis:  análisis de orina

Biopsy: biopsia
Culture: cultivo
Similarly, you will use "cultivo de" followed by the location/body part where you are obtaining the specimen from. Below are some examples
Blood Culture: cultivo de sangre
Urine Culture: cultivo de orina
Throat culture: cultivo de la garganta
We'll end with a phrase by putting it all together! let me know if you were able to translate this phrase or take your guess in the comments below. Next week we'll be going over an HPI in Spanish!
